The Brown Bookshelf & Moi

I'm still in the middle of heavy-duty writing and revising (thus my absence from LJ), but I wanted to let everyone know that my interview on The Brown Bookshelf is up today. The Brown Bookshelf has been spending February (Black History Month) spotlighting authors and illustrators of children's and YA literature, people of color who are doing their thing and creating wonderful books.
I've been reading the interviews and I'm kind of embarrassed that I haven't heard of every author or illustrator before. And that's the beauty of this kind of campaign. Bringing awareness. So if you haven't been checking out The Brown Bookshelf this month, all of the interviews are still up, and maybe you'll be introduced (as I have) to some new people and new books!
But before I go, let me give a shout-out to two of my friends and fellow Longstockings who have brand-spankin'-new books out this month: Lisa Graff for her second novel, The Life and Crimes of Bernetta Wallflower (hilarious!) and Siobhan Vivian for her debut, A Little Friendly Advice (captivating!)
So please check 'em out! :-)
